Horace Silver led some memorable groups including his 1964/65 Quintet featuring Carmel Jones on trumpet; Joe Henderson on tenor saxophone, Teddy Smith on bass, Roger Humphries on drums, and Horace on piano. This is the group that recorded two of Horace’s most popular Blue Note recordings, Cape Verdean Blues and Song for My Father.
From the 1964 Antibes Jazz Festival, on the French Rivera, from the album, Cape Verdean, the Quintet plays Horace’s composition, Pretty Eyes.
