Great read, Bret. Spot on. Not only do we have a POTUS that is the very embodiment of the decline, but who's floored the accelerator .

You’re right, of course… and I can’t blame them for not returning our calls; it is a weird place to be these days! I keep hoping saner minds will prevail but so far?? Thanks for making me laugh…. 👍🏻you are a treasure! 💕

I don't think.

Anything brett writes is painfully naive. He's been around the block. He's seen a few things and he Is working the audience that are listening. Remember

To stick together and to vote republicans out in the midterm we can do that

The Obama perspective on globalization was a hopeful glimmer of the potential of humanism to unify “the powers” and relieve a lot of suffering on the ground. We can bend our destiny by taking charge of our own interactions, while we wait out the suffocation of the insane dictator, imho.

Artfully written, as always, yet painfully naive. The problems you reference are indeed problems, or perhaps more - symptoms. We have had a decades long BIPARTISAN acquiescence to the deep state and military industrial complex. The issues you discuss make sense in a make believe world... the one they rammed down our throats in school, movies, the news media. It's all a heaping pile of shit, lies and theft of our wealth, our health and our liberty.

This is not a left and right thing, or a Republican and Democrat thing, or conservative and liberal thing. The west has long been captured by maniacs and thugs going back to the start of the industrial age, through the world wars, JFK - RFK - MLK assassinations, Vietnam, desert storm, 911, covid, Epstein, Diddy, The Fed.

Until we realize as a people that it's not Republican vs Democrats etc... but the majority of humans vs the elite, we are doomed continue in the collapse you describe. My fervent hope is that enough people's eyes are being opened by the Epstein and Diddy debacles to finally realize it isn't "us against us", it's us against them. If they have their way we'll be digital slaves soon. I hope that, as a people, we find our humanity, collective interests, and join with one another again. That's our only hope really, because the solutions won't come from the top down. They will come from the bottom up.

I hope you know that I have the highest respect for you. I’ve been a follower for many years and I love your work. I’m sorry if this topic Revs me up a bit. I said you were naive but that’s not fair. Maybe you’re hopeful about the system and I’m cynical? I’m sorry if I came off crass.

No problem. There are no judgments here, just appreciation and interest in all perspectives.

The mantra, the greatest generation, the greatest nation. The first….to use big the big bombs to put out a slow burning fire. Only look back in glory. Maybe, maybe, one day, forward vision will occur. Well, it still rings in my head, keep the faith, baby. Peace, love and aloha.

That's about right... you nailed it once again... tragically... seemingly deliberate self-destruction. Hard to understand.

Indeed, I would gree. I am still puzzled why the oligarchs, who have a vested interest in good foreign relations go along with the madness, and why Congress keeps playing the game along with trump. Surely they also see what is patently obvious. I expect a great deal more will be revealed.

This is a psychologically insightful analysis. Politically speaking, I do appreciate Russ' comments that countries in general are being played by the globalist agenda. It is certainly an interesting show to be watching, especially as an expat!

And who are the great grass roots / upcoming musical commentators for these times? Are there any visible ? Have we lost them to mediocrity and record companies who can't support such artistes?

Sometimes I think its good to be getting old and avoiding whats to come. You do it with class Bret. Long may you run
