Brilliant, Bret. Let us not forget that we face not only the death of democracy. Over all human activity, wise and foolish, hateful and loving, cruel and compassionate looms the reality of climate disruption and its own social and economic impacts.
You are so right! Why are so few writers writing about an education system that calls for thinking.... distinguishing fact from opinion for one instance!!!!!
One of the sad changes in my 75 years on this planet is the decline of the education in the United States. The American educational system is struggling with inequality, outdated curricula, and an overemphasis on standardized testing. Underfunded schools, overworked teachers, and a lack of resources leave many students unprepared for the demands of a rapidly changing world. To address these issues, the system needs equitable funding, modernized learning approaches, and support for creativity and critical thinking. I'm not certain that will be happening anytime soon.
